Graduation Message by:
Secretary of the Department of Education

My warmest greetings to all the completers and graduates of School Year 2017-2018!
On behalf of the Department of Education (DepEd), I commend your determination, perseverance and hard work which led you to this milestone. Whether this is your moving-up, completion, or graduation ceremony, what matters is that you have triumphed in this journey.
It is our goal to ensure that the K to 12 Program empowers you, our dear learners, to become critical thinkers and problem solvers both in the local and global communities. I am positive that you have learned not only to memorize facts and formulae, but also to relate these facts and theories to what is happening in the real world. As stated in this year’s theme, “K to 12 Learners: Ready to Face Life’s Challenges,” we hope we have equipped you with 21st century skills and lifelong competencies through quality education that is accessible, relevant, and liberating for all.
As you reminisce your travails and rejoice your achievements, always remember that your teachers, parents, families, fellow learners, school officials and personnel, community members, education partners, and government leaders are always with you every step of the way. Let them serve as your inspiration to dream and strive not only for your own success, but more so for this country’s progress.
Whatever path you will pursue after this momentous occasion, may you continue to uphold the core values of your alma mater and DepEd – Maka-Diyos, Maka-tao, Makakalikasan, and Makabansa. Bear in mind that while education is your right, it also bestows upon you a greater responsibility to contribute to the betterment of our society.

To our future leaders and nation-builders, congratulations and mabuhay!

OIC, Schools Division Superintendent

Schools Division of Nueva Vizcaya extends its warmest congratulations to the first batch of elementary and senior high school K to 12 graduates.   We salute you for your perseverance and resiliency!

The same felicitation is accorded to the Kindergarten and Junior High School Completers.   Congratulations!

The K to 12 basic education is a major educational reform.   As we journeyed toward this point where we are now, there were challenges.   But because of supportive stakeholders and countless efforts of our leaders, we were able to surpass these challenges. Together, we celebrate our first K to 12 harvests.

This year’s theme, “K to 12 Learners: Ready to Face Life’s Challenges (Mag-aaral ng K to 12: Handa sa Hamon Ng Buhay),” clearly conveys that our department is an institution whose mandate is to prepare the learners to become 21st century skilled citizens who are locally and globally competitive.   These 21st century skills that our learners must possess are: Information, Media, and Technology, Learning and Innovation, Communication, and Life and Career. True enough, our dedicated and committed school heads and teachers have instilled in our learners these skills and competencies.

As we celebrate this momentous event, we would like to extend our gratitude to all our stakeholders: our provincial and local officials, education leaders, the parents and guardians, our community people and all our partners whose contributions and support have paved and smoothened the “humps” in our road toward reaching this first K to 12 commencement exercise.

To our graduates and completers, as you reminisce the years you have spent within the tight embrace of the school that nurtured your talents, remember not only the competencies and skills that you have acquired but more importantly, the good character and attributes you have grasped as you go on with life’s journey.
Make your alma mater proud as you take off, spread your wings and soar higher.   God Bless K-12 Graduates and Completers!
